This program is will strengthen and expand the partners information activities directed towards schools in Norway. The program will consists of teams of participants (both South-participants in Norway and North-participants who have returned home), visiting primary and secondary schools, engaging pupils and sharing information related to North-South issues.
In order to present a unified concept towards the schools, guidelines for the school teams and their operation have been developed. Fredskorpset has also established a web based tool for coordinating school visits, and making it easy for interested schools and partners with school teams to be linked. A coordinator has been employed by Fredskorpset, and will start coordinating all aspects of the school program from January.
In order to secure high quality school visits, all team participants are given a 3 days training in presentation techniques and methods (organised by Fredskorpset). Partners interested in participating in this School program should already now start registering participants for the 3 days training. The first training is planned for February 2005.
It is both the interested partners and Fredskorpset’s responsibility to market the school teams towards the schools. Partners who already have long standing relations to certain schools will of course continue visiting these schools, but need to inform Fredskorpset about their planned visits, for the sake of good coordination.
