Fikre works as representative of Fredskorpset for Africa. He has post-graduate diploma in economics and a BBA degree mojor in accounting. Fikre has several years of experience in banking reaching the position of Deputy General Manager of Commercial Bank of Ethiopia. He was also a general manager of a manufacturing company. Fikre then joined Norwegian Save the Children, Ethiopia as director of finance and accounts and later promoted to assistant resident representative of the Norwegian Save the Children in Uganda. He held this position for five and half years.
