Nimal Martinus from Strømme Foundation lead the conference emphasizing a huge challenge: How to fight the poverty. The experience and wisdom is there, he said. Poverty is not because of lack of money, but lack of organization and also social exclusion.
Participation is the key for development, Nimal stated. And young people are the future decision-makers. Therefore it is important to meet and learn. The FK partnerships are bringing people together, to understand each others.
Lot of knowledge
The purpose for getting together is to discuss how this group of FK partners and participants from different countries may use their knowledge together. How may the Sri Lanka network cooperate and share best practises?
Teambuilding
This was the third meeting for Sri Lanka partners and participants. Sacha Jotisalikorn, Region Representative for FK Asia, was satisfied to see a new and strong Sri Lanka network. This team can now be a rescourse for all the members, and they may reach new goals together.
Participant Forum
15 FK participants attended the network meeting. They represented a wide range of professions and countries: Myanmar, Bangladesh, Nepal, Thailand and Sri Lanka. Both former participants and participants on exchange want to keep in touch. They discussed the possibiliby of creating a new interactive website. This idea will be incorporated in the new idea of FK Norways new interactive website for all participants and partners worldwide.
