Welcome to Oslo University College’s Faculty of Nursing,
We are Norway's largest institution for nursing education, with approximately 1800 students and 160 staff members (130 academic and 23 administrative). The history of nursing education in Oslo stretches back to 1900.
We are proud of our holistic, comprehensive approach to nursing education. We organize our curriculum into five subject modules that run parallel to each other throughout the three year Bachelor program. From the first day, our students learn to integrate their extensive clinical practice experiences with theoretical knowledge from these five modules. They are also expected to actively participate in group learning processes and to take initiative to expand their knowledge base by keeping abreast of current research. We believe this approach creates nurses who think independently, and work professionally in teams with other health professionals. We know this approach creates nurses who can integrate a variety of facts and impressions to create the best possible care for patients and their loved ones. We continue this approach in our Master degree programmes, as well as in our research.
