Tuesday 14th August Buddy – breakfast No hero could be a hero without food and drink! That’s why the nice ladies from the canteen will welcome all the buddies with a breakfast buffet in the Berte Kanutte building. Opening-ceremony for the study year 2007-2008 Welcoming event for all the students (old and new) from HVO. Entertainment and speeches by the new rector and other teachers. The “buddy week” leader will also talk to the students. Dividing the buddy groups The new students will go to the classrooms where the teachers will introduce themselves and provide information about the new academic year. The buddy groups are divided according to the courses of study and the buddies come to the classrooms to fetch their groups. Vorspiel On the first night in the buddy groups, it is the buddies that have to arrange the vorspiel-party for their buddy-children. The most important thing for the new students is to have fun and to get to know each other. Party with the Samvirkelaget group Keeping up the tradition, Rokken student union is inviting everyone to a party celebrating the start of the new semester. The song “Stop the violence” has raised many debates about racism. The people from group are extremely cool! When the 12 find their way to the concert stage it can’t be described as anything else but explosive. Rokken is really going to rock, and you have to join in! The queue can get long, but it’s definitely worth the wait. Buddies should remember to take their groups to Rokken early. As buddies in their group they will get in for free. Wednesday 15th August Dorm-cooking in The transition from mum’s cooking to pasta from the box can be tough on many new students. Therefore Lene Fredriksen and her team are willing to show us how to cook simple, cheap and fast dorm-food in Rebus race Take your group and participate in the rebus puzzle race. Besides the fun activities, the newcomers get to see a bit of what Volda has to offer. Don’t hesitate to take part!
Thursday 16th August
Stands This is the day when the new students get to know more about the teams, clubs and organizations available here at HVO and the programmes they have to offer. Their common goal is to create a better environment for the students, by offering a diverse range of activities. Dorm-cooking in 1-2-3 The stubborn fans of readymade food get a last chance to join the cooking course. Course and study units take over Every course and study unit will plan its own activities sponsored by the Nordea Bank-funds. VOKS Bar-B-Q VOKS invites all the students to a barbecue by the Rotevatnet lake at 19.00. Departure from the BK canteen at 18.30. Games and fun… Friday 17th August Stands Teams, clubs and organizations have stands open in BK building. You are welcome to visit and make your choices. Bar-B-Q party Food is sponsored by Rema 1000, Rimi, Euro Spar and Bunnpris. KRIK-training 19.30 at the Kaarstad football pitch. Vorspiel Rokken invites you to party again! This time it is Jessica Fletchers that tries to conquer the crowd in Rokken with her exciting rhythms, captivating songs and colorful outfits. The happy trance where you can only think about dancing is called the Jessica Fletchers-effect! In brief, it’s the music of the summer! See rokken.no for more information.

Bus cruise The bus company Fjord1 is offering a free guided tour to all the students that have travelled a long way to get to Volda. The little town has its own way of revealing itself, but now you just have to lean back, look out of the window and allow the charming region to impress you… Board-games VOKS invites you to play board-games at Rokken at 14.00. Bring your game or just yourself down to Rokken. Documentary film on the big screen at Rokken The documentary film festival puts Volda in the spotlights for one week every year. Dozens of documentaries are presented but only the best ones get awarded prizes. You are invited now to watch “To China without money” («Til Kina uten penger») that won the public-choice award during Dokfilm 2007. Theme-party at Rokken Updates later on the rokken.no web-page. Sunday 19th August Mountain trip Meet at the Idrettsbygget building (the one with the swimming pool) at 12.00. Movie premier in Cinema in Volda presents “Miss Potter”(1h 40min) at 19.00. (All free!)
