What is Infoweb?

Infoweb is an information management system for NTNU. It is created for students and employees to have a centralized source of technical information and help on the web. Infoweb is developed and maintained by Orakeltjenesten and Systemdrift at NTNU.

How do i use it?

The structure of the system

All the information in Infoweb is published through articles. An article is a text about a subject, and it can point to other information in other Infoweb-articles as well as other resources on the web.

Every article is organized into at least one category. Each category contains information about one subject. If the contents of an article borders to other categories the article may be put into several categories, but usually not more than two.

Every category belongs to one main category. These have been included to ease the organization of information, so it is easier to find the articles you need.

Two ways to navigate Infoweb

Different people use different methods when they look for information. If you know what you need, you can search for articles. If you know which category your problem is in, you can browse through the different categories to find the relevant articles. We have tried to organize the system so you need as few steps as possible to find what you want.

Other similiar systems at NTNU

There are multiple systems at NTNU with the same goal as Infoweb. This is because various groups want to give specific information about their systems, which may not apply to all the users of the NTNU general computer systems..

The different systems add up to a valuable resource which can save you the time it takes to write an e-mail or make a phone call to your local service desk. All you need is the time and patience it takes to get to know the systems.
