Receiving TV with Mac OS X
The simplest way
Please note: To be able to watch our TV streams you need to be on a multicast-enabled network in Norway, as explained below.
If you haven't changed you Mac's media handling configuration it will try to open our TV streams in QuickTime Player. QuickTime Player is included with all new Macs, and you therefore don't need to download it separately.
Click on one of the links below to watch the corresponding channel. The stream will usually be displayed inside the browser window; if you want to open it in a separate window you can copy the stream's address and paste it into you preferred media player (e.g. QuickTime Player or VLC).
Multicast support
To be able to receive the streams you must be on a multicast-enabled network in Norway. For intellectual property reasons we are not allowed to distribute NRK's TV channels internationally. Also, please note that at the moment very few (if any) commercial Internet providers support multicast routing. Your best bet is therefore to watch NRK1 and NRK2 at an institution connected to UNINETT, the Norwegian academic ISP.
