The Journal of Industrial Ecology, published by MIT Press, is the central Industrial Ecology peer-reviewed journal. In 2005 the journal released a free-of-charge double-issue on sustainable consumption. This issue deals with a number of research questions important for the reduction of environmental impacts from household consumption in different countries and cities. A short summary of the papers is contained in the editorial by IndEcol Director Edgar Hertwich. The special issue is freely available on the internet thanks to funding by the Garfield Foundation, UNEP -Division of Technology, Industry, and Economics, and IndEcol in collaboration with AIST.
