The department is involved in education, research and promotion of several medical fields related to the circulatory and respiratory systems. We are also host institution for the Medical simulation centre and the NTNU MR Center
The physical locations of the department are mainly in the "Medisinsk teknisk forskningssenter" (MTFS) building complex and the MR center building. The administrative staff is located in northern part of the 4. floor nord at MTFS.
