The study of Electronics at NTNU is divided into four majors. Each major is split further into main profiles (see the following figure). In the 2-year masters study you choose both your major and a main profile to specialize in.

The main profile “Nanotechnology and Microsystems” presupposes a bachelor’s degree in microtechnology fra Høyskole in Vestfold (HiVe). The main profile “Photonics” is not offered as a 2-year master degree. Students that are interested in this field of specialization may start in the third year of the 5-year master’s program.
