Quality, breadth and co-operation are the keywords in our strategy for the twelve departments that make up our faculty.

The faculty has a wide disciplinary breadth and has unique room for interplay between the different disciplines.
Quality in this breadth depends on co-operation with the international community; we have contacts in countries on every continent, and these contacts are essential to the development of the faculty. Internationalization is of increasing importance for both study and research, and our guests and research partners both in Norway and abroad are important to us in the realisation of our strategies.
Our most important resource is our students and staff: the faculty of social sciences and technology management employs the equivalent of 450 full-time staff, of which around 75% are directly related to research and teaching. We have around 6600 students, 25% of which are at MA/PhD level. The faculty budget for 2007 is 390 million Norwegian kroner, of which 90 million come from external sources.
