BUC welcomes you as its student, and would like to thank you for choosing Norway, and Bodø University College as your place of study. We appreciate the fact that you have entrusted your future in us by choosing to study at Bodø University College. It is the goal at the entire institution, and the international office in particular, to provide you with as much assistance as possible to achieve your goal.

We hope you get the best of everything academically and socially while in Bodø. This handbook was designed to help you prepare for your study at Bodø University College, and give you useful tips while here. It highlights essential information about academic and social life, your immigration responsibilities as an international student, cross – cultural adjustment issues, and necessary resources on campus and in the local community. We hope you will find this handbook useful, but we know that we won’t be able to cover every area. Therefore we encourage you to contact us if you have any questions or queries.

Many of you may be leaving home for the first time to study abroad. Others may have been away from home, but never for such an extended period of time. Leaving home to go study in another culture is both an exciting and stressful process. There are many challenges to face. Living in an unfamiliar culture and conducting daily business in a new language can sometimes make simple tasks feel like monumental events. We would like to help you through the adjustment process as much as possible. So please, let us know how we can help. The International Office is here to help you with any questions or enquiry you may have.
