The following integration tier patterns are introduced: Data Access Object (DAO), Service Activator, Domain Store, and Web Service Broker.
The introduction is based on the book Core J2EE Patterns, second edition. A previous edition with sample code from Sun Microsystems is also available on Sun's website.
