Tidlig variant av fortrengningsventilasjon/røykventilasjon i rom

Ventilation is used to remove pollution, to ensure sufficient fresh air in the breathing zone and to create cooling. Planning of ventilation is an important issue.

To achieve energy efficiency, air is supplied to each room according to demand. Natural ventilation and low pressure fall in the airways is utilized.

Different strategies are used in industrial ventilation to hamper spreading of airborne pollution and to ensure air quality and thermal comfort for the personnel.

In case of fire, the ventilation can be controlled to avoid smoke in rooms from spreading to the fire escape routes.
