The curriculum of the programme will not be restricted to psychological issues, but will also cover biological and health aspects, human movement aspects, social and cultural aspects, economic aspects, and physical environmental aspects. It will of course not be possible to cover all these aspects thoroughly within a two years Master's programme. Therefore, the programme makes a rough division of developmental issues into biological-individual and interpersonal-cultural domains, and will cover four different themes within each domain. Which themes will be covered in a particular year may change depending on the specific specializations and orientations of the teachers engaged in the programme. Integration of the different themes will be an important part of the curriculum.
The students are invited to choose four specializations— two with a biological-individual orientation and two with an interpersonal-cultural orientation — among several different themes offered. Furthermore, student proposals for own specialization will be considered. Training in research methods will be linked to the chosen specializations. In the second year, the student will design his or her own 15 ECTS credits course, in addition to the choice of a subject for the Master's thesis. Thus giving the programme an individual profile, the students will be encouraged to integrate different aspects of human change processes into their work.
Programme structure for 2007 - 2008 The programme involves 2 years of full-time studies. The programme is structured around core courses and a Master's thesis (45 credits). The normal workload for a full-time student for one academic year is 60 credits.
