How society changes and develops Sociology is about patterns and processes in social life. The first thing which students learn is that things are not as they appear to be. Sociology helps us to shed new light on the world in which we exist. It is about how human beings influence one another and contribute to the small as well as the large communities in which they belong.
As a sociologist you study relations within and between groups, organizations, institutions, and societies. The purpose of the study program is to train the students to understand, investigate, and analyze how society changes and develops, particularly within areas such as production, technology, and politics, and within areas where the process of globalization increases human interaction across cultural and geographical borders.
