The European Portal – Information on
Norway’s co-operation with Europe
Welcome to the European Portal – the Norwegian government’s
website for information about Norway’s
co-operation with Europe. Here you can read
about the EU and the EEA, the development of Norway’s
European policy, security and co-operation in Europe
and a number of other related topics.
You will also find information about what it entails to be a
citizen of the EEA, and what opportunities, rights and obligations this
involves. And you can read about the other European co-operation organisations Norway
participates in.
In the course of the spring 2006, the European Portal will be
expanded to provide a new service: the EEA Database. This database will contain
documents on all the matters being dealt with by the public administration in
connection with EU legislation that may be incorporated into Norwegian
legislation. The database will give the public access at an early stage to
information on current EEA matters being dealt with by Norway. In addition to reading EEA
documents, you will be able to send your views and questions on the various
matters directly to the competent ministry via the European Portal.
The aim of the European Portal is to gather all information
regarding information about Norway's
cooperation with Europe in one place so that
it is more easily accessible and user friendly. In addition to being a central
source of information, the European Portal is also intended to encourage a
broad-based debate on Europe in Norway. ( Last updated: February 2006)
Some of the information on the European Portal will eventually
also be available in Sami and English.
