project work successful
Yesterday we had a successful warming up work shop with construction of different types of model rockets. If the weather allows it we will have launch on saturday the 10th or sunday 11th of November. NTNU Space and Rocketry are now looking further up and ahead and are planning the construction of a larger-scale sounding rocket with telemetry-system implementation. You don’t want to miss this so stay put and visit regularly to keep up to date. You can see some of the pictures from the warming up work shop at http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=66849&l=7f5db&id=624510787

Rocket introduction
I have a rocketpage of my own that I recommend you to check out. Here you can find information about safety aspects as well as hints on how to get started. Also I have written a rocket introduction that I would like you all to read through prior to our rocketbuilding-weekend next Saturday. My page can be found at www.rocketrypage.com

Need list - can you contribute with something?
Hi! We need a few items for the manufacture of our first rocket engines prior to our planned workshop on Saturday the 3rd of November . If anyone has something that’s on this list please send me an e-mail. We will use a mixture of Sorbitol and Potassium Nitrate as propellant. May it enlighten us all.
Need List:
-PVC tubes that we can use as moulds for the liquid fuel (it is liquid/plasma before it sets) (altså støpeformer). These will function as engine shells.
-Some string that if dipped in our fuel mixture looks like it would make a good fuse. Electric ignition is prefered, but I don’t know if we can find any suitable wire. If you have soemthign you think could work though, just bring it.
-An electric cooking apparatus (elektrisk plate).
-A long cable with grounding to connect the cooking apparatus to a power supply (apparatus must be outside for safety reasons, ahem…).
-Sorbitol - we wont get anywhere without it.
Also, if you know where we can buy additional chemical compounds for our scientific pyro-adventures I’d love to know!
