Norwegian teachers abroad
About 140 higher education institutions in Asia, Europe, Latin-America and North-America offer teaching in Norwegian language and Norwegian subjects. Among these, some 30 European universities have created non-tenure track positions for Norwegian teachers.
The main goal of this scheme is to offer quality teaching of the Norwegian language and Norwegian subjects at selected institutions. Also, the scheme should help to promote Norway as an attractive country for study and research and to recruit students and researchers to Norwegian higher education institutions. The teachers under the scheme must have a Norwegian higher degree diploma and be a native speaker of Norwegian.
The scheme is administrated by SIU on behalf of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA).
