Art history is suitable for those who are interested in art and wish to learn how to interpret and understand different artistic expressions in an analytic way.
The programme challenges both the eyes and the emotions, and provides the students with an opportunity of specialising more in how art can be understood and how it affects our lives. The programme also provides them with an overview over European (and recent American) art history and insight into central art-historical theories and methods.
The one-year programme is approved as part of the Bachelor in Film and Television and the Bachelor in Cultural Project Management at LillehammerUniversityCollege. The programme also qualifies for further studies in art history at universities and university colleges. It may also be relevant for teacher, culture bearers or others who would like to take a supplementary education in art history.
