Gender in Norway
Are you interested in knowing more about the facts and myths of Norwegian Gender Equality?
We welcome all to an introductory seminar
Some current issues in the Norwegian context are the following:
· Gendered division of labour in Norway - education, work, home
· Men and child care
· Modernizing masculinities
· Norwegian women’s insistence on respect and freedom to define their own boundaries
· Homophobia and hetero-normativity
We plan to introduce you to some of these issues, and also to some of the milestones which brought Norway to “fame” when it comes to women’s emancipation and gender equality issues. We start by showing a short film. A light meal will be served.
When: August 20th, 2007 at 16.15-18.00
Where: Upper Pavillion/Øvre Lysthus, 2.floor/etg
The seminar is free of charge and open to the first 30 students who register for participation – before 10 o’clock Monday! You register by sending us an email: kvinnforsk@skk.uit.no - or call 776 45585 – or visit us at the Upper Pavillion/Øvre Lysthus.
