About the PhD-school
The “PhD-school in Molecular and Structural Biology” was established by the University of Tromsø as an interfaculty initiative (Faculty of Science and Faculty of Medicine). The PhD-school is administrated by the Norwegian Structural Biology Centre (NorStruct), but is a joint effort among research groups in molecular biomedicine, RNA-biology, computational and structural biology.
The PhD-school provides excellent training environments and facilities in functional genomics and modern molecular and structural biology. The PhD-school and the responsible research groups are providing projects within a wide range of biological and biomedical topics.
11.12.06
The next PhD-school seminar is held by Arjumand Ather from NorStruct (Institute of Chemistry).
The title is: "From ORFeome to proteome: Biotechnological application to the resources of Psychrophilic V. salmonicida genome"
Welcome to Auditorium 4 (MH-building) Wednesday 13th of December at 12:15
15.11.06
The PhD school in Molecular and Structural Biology was arranging an open day on November 15 2006.
The program consisted of lectures by invited speakers and a poster section presenting the different research groups in the PhD school and the projects of the PhD students.
01.11.06
Peter Kyomuhendo from "Fiskeriforskning" held his PhD-school seminar with the title: "Structural analyses and molecular modelling of lysozyme-inhibitor interactions and of potential suppressors of lysozyme inhibitors"
16.08.06
PhD-course provided by the PhD-school: BIO-8305 "Research frontiers in molecular and structural biology" - September 5. - 15., 2006. (Application dead-line is August 25th, 2006)
24.05.06 The students in the PhD-school will held seminars every second week during the semester. The first seminar was held by Chris Fenton from The Protein Research Group.
Julianne Elvenes is the first PhD-student admitted to the PhD-school in Molecular and Structural Biology at the University of Tromsø. The applications for admission to the PhD-school for about 15 more students are currently processed.
