Professor Edgar Weckert

HASYLAB at DESY


Studied materials science in Erlangen, leading to a Ph.D. and habilitation in Crystallography. Main areas of interest: experimental phase determination by multi-beam diffraction, maximum entropy methods, high-resolution diffraction, radiation damage in proteins, and application of XFEL radiation. At present Prof. Weckert is Leading senior scientist and member of the board of directors at HASYLAB/DESY. He is also project manager of the PETRA-III upgrade project.
