Welcome to Tromsø in North Norway
"Past, Present and Future"
The 2nd SNBL Highlights Meeting will be held in the University of Tromsø, 6 km north of the city centre and will consist of 5 sessions. Each of these will commence with a keynote lecture by an invited speaker followed by shorter (20-30 minute) presentations. Poster presentations are also invited.

You are warmly invited to make oral and/or poster presentations on synchrotron related topics.
Accommodation
The city has a considerable number of hotels and we planning to coordinate all bookings through the Tourist Office. It will not be possible to accommodate all participants and accompanying persons in the same hotel but most hotels are within a 5 minutes walking radius.
Travel
Each day there are 11 direct flights from Oslo (1hr 50min in an MD80 or B737) and 4 flights from Trondheim (2hr 5 min in B737 with stop in Bodø). Flights from Zurich, Geneva or Lyon take approximately 7hrs. and involve one or two changes. More information
Social Activities
These will include an 8-hour excursion involving buses and ferries over 2 fjords to arrive at the small town of Skjervøy 15 minutes before the south going Coastal Steamer arrives there on its way to Tromsø. The conference dinner will be on board this ship during the 3hr 45min journey to Tromsø.
