Travel arrangements

Norwegian participants

For economic reasons you are expected to use Norwegian Air Shuttle and will almost all fly to Tromsø from Gardemoen on DY812. There are corresponding (rather early!) NAS connections from Stavanger and Bergen but present booking procedures require that you also check in at Gardemoen. This will be simplest if you only have hand baggage.

Norwegian Air Shuttle is planning direct flights from Trondheim to Tromsø that, assuming a suitable timetable, will remove the need for a change at Gardemoen.

At present DY812 departs OSL at 09:20 and arrives TOS 11:15. This will give you time to take the bus to your hotel, check in, and then join a bus to the University for the welcome and lunch at 12:00. Details will be announced later.

However please note that NAS has a tendency to change its timetables frequently.

Your flight reservations will be made on the basis of the information you supply in the registration form with tickets sent to you by post.


Participants from abroad

It is fully possible to travel from Geneva or Zűrich to Tromsø in approximately 7 hours. You are strongly advised to check prices because these can vary by a factor of 2. Chantal at the SNBL office has sent the following examples, so take care:

In Tromsø
Busses or minibuses will be arranged to transport participants between hotels and the University.

If sufficient people arrive on DY812 a private bus or MaxiTaxis will be arranged
