Buttercup family

This collection, like the Primula collection, is based on botanical criteria, focusing on the plant family which includes favourite genera such as the Anemones (Anemone), Columbines (Aquilegia) and Pasqueflowers (Pulsatilla).

Many tall plants in this group, such as several Monk`s hoods (Aconitum) and Globeflowers (Trollius) frames the pond attractively.

However, many much smaller plants, mostly alpines, also find a home here providing a very early show of beautiful flowers, starting with the Noble Hepatica (Hepatica nobilis), the beautiful Wood Anemone (Anemone nemorosa) and the exquisite Spring Pasqueflower (Pulsatilla vernalis), a native of southern Norway as well as the Alps.
