Amphi. Childrens corner

The Amphitheatre, facing the pond, is the centre of the Arctic-alpine Botanic garden: a meeting place, a place where classes are taught and visitors attending the garden programs meet. It is also a popular place for university employees and others to bring their lunch on a nice day. Surrounding the Amphi is a small collection of dwarf conifers.

Many children follow their parents to the garden, and kids from kindergartens come to visit. In order to offer the smaller children activities and protect the plant collections from being used as a playground, a Children`s Corner was incorporated into the garden from the beginning. This area also features a research based plant collection called "Children`s Games with Wild Flowers", presenting plants and activities connected to traditional children`s games in North Norway.
