Succulents

Sukkulent samling
Succulent collection

Plants capable of storing water in "succulent" stems or leaves, thus beeing able to withstand periods of drought, are generally referred to as "succulents". Such plants hardy in Tromsø mostly belong in the genera Sedum, Rhodiola, Sempervivum and Jovibarba.

Apart from being attractive many of these plants also fulfill the needs of the small, even the miniature, garden: they do not require much place and they provide considerable variation in form and colour at all times since the leaves often are at least as attractive as the flowers.
