Traditional garden perennials of North Norway

Ornamental plants used in gardens of North Norway about 100 years ago or more, are the focus of this collection. Plants found here are documented to have been in use in the old days.

New facilities for the public are now in place in the form of an old farmhouse in position 20 on the garden map. Here an authentic old farmhouse garden will be constructed, containing blue Monks Head, Tansy, Rhubarb, Red Currant and adjoining Rowan trees.

The plant collection as well as the reconstruction of the farmhouse have just started in year 2000. Many plants are already growing well. The whole set will probably be finished in 2004.
