The first students at the MPCT-programme were enrolled in August 2002. The first student completed the programme at 10. June 2004. Jayne Khayega Kigadi from Kenya examined in her thesis ”Peace education in schools : a study of textbooks in Kenya”.

In less than three years, more than 50 students completed the MPCT-programme. Student number 50 to be awarded the master degree in Peace and Conflict Transformation was Rachel Caroline Papa on 26. March 2007. Her thesis had the title: “Ethnic-religious tolerance and co-existence among the former Yugoslavs: A utopian idea from the past? Or dream of the future?”

Together with the Exam Celebration for the 2005-2007 MPCT student group, the Centre for Peace Study will also mark this historic event. The venue takes place on Tuesday, 12. June 2007, from 18:30 - 21:00 at Sansenes Kjøkken (Skansen), Tromsø.
