Part-time work

There are unfortunately very few opportunities for part-time work in Tromsø for people who do not speak the Norwegian language fluently.

International students, with the exception of Nordic and EU/EEA citizens, require a work permit from the police in order to legally work in Norway. A work permit is required for each employer and each part-time job the student may obtain. Work permit applications are processed by the local immigration office (police) with the approval of the Department of Academic Affairs. A processing fee of NOK600 is charged by the police for each work permit application that is submitted.

For further information, contact one of the Counsellors for Foreign Students at the Student Counselling Centre.
