Tips and tools
1) Electronic books
The university library has a number of electronic books that you can access online, as long as you are connected to the univesity network. That is, you must either be at the university, or have a personal VPN Client connection. To use electronic books (from your own computer) you must install the ebrary Reader and learn to use it.

Download ebrary Reader. Necessary in order to use ebrary.
Allow pop-ups
To allow pop-ups from ebrary in Internet Explorer do the following:
1) Click on ”verktøy” or ”tools” on the far right of your tool bar.
2) Choose ”popup-blokkering” and then ”Innstillinger for popup-blokkering.
3) In the space headed ”address of website to allow” type ebrary.com.
2) Searching
In Ebrary
Ebrary is a good place to search for articles in book. While a database like MLA will give you the reference (title, author, publication, etc.) it will not give you on-line access to the full text of the article. Ebrary will.

Google
Most of the high-quality material about the authors and texts on your reading list you will find on the English Literature Page. Be very careful about using general search engine’s like Google for your studies. Sites might be posted by people who are not as knowledgeable as they seem to be, and you have no guarantee of the quality. So called ”study guides” and ”essays” are often written by students trying to earn some money, and some of them are no good at all.
GoogleScholar
is a good search engine, which only give you hits that are of high quality. Some of the articles you find here will be complicated and maybe hard to understand.
