60 ECTS group
Instead of a 60 ECTS group in sociology, a group of courses of 60 ECTS in social science are offered, combining sociology (20 ECTS), social anthropology (20 ECTS) and political science (20 ECTS). Students who choose sociology as their line of study cannot choose the social science course groups as subject number two.
The courses in political science are STV-1002 Public policy and administration: Institutions and processes in Norwegian politics (10 ECTS) (Spring) and STV-1005 International politics (10 ECTS) (Autumn). 20 ECTS in social anthropology and sociology can be combined in two ways:
i) Students who choose the 20 ECTS course SOA-1001 Understanding culture. An introduction to social anthropology in the spring semester, take SOS-1002, Classics of sociology (10 ECTS) and SOS-1003 Medicine in society (10 ECTS) in the autumn semester in addition to STV-1005.
ii) Students who choose the 20 ECTS course SOS-1001 The individual and society in the spring semester take SOA-1003 Communication and meaning (10 ECTS) and SOA-1004 Organisation of community and differences (10 ECTS) in addition to STV-1005.
