Introduction to inorganic chemistry

Work Load 10  credits (ECTS)

Contents Elements of the theory of molecular bonding and its consequences for molecular structure. Symmetry and ligand field theory. An overview of the chemistry of main group elements and transition metals.

Form of teaching Lectures: 30 hrs Seminars: 30 hrs

Compulsory teaching Exercises

Assessment It may be required that the student attend a minimum number of the seminars given. The student have to pass a mandatory test. Grades based on a final, written examination, 4 h.

Examination semester Autumn

Date(s) of written examination 16.12.2005 The exam date is preliminary and may be subject to change. Definitive exam date will be announced on the notice boards at the faculties in the beginning of May for the spring semester and in the beginning of November for the autumn semester.
