Stereochemistry and stereoselective synthesis

Work Load 10  credits (ECTS)

Contents The course gives an introduction to structure, stereoisomerism, symmetry, configuration, and conformation of organic compounds. Prostereoisomerism and prochirality of molecules with heterotropic ligands and surfaces are thoroughly treated. The principles of stereoselective synthesis based on diastereoselectivity, enatioselectivity and double stereodifferentiation are treated.

Form of teaching Lectures: 30 h Seminars/exercises: 20 h

Assessment Oral examination During the course the student should deliver two compulsory written reports showing solutions to two given problems. The examination is based on the given reports.
