Contents Introductory organic chemistry. Overview of the most important functional groups, their characteristic properties, methods of preparation and reactions. Stereochemistry, reaction mechanisms and nomenclature.

Form of teaching Lectures: 40 hrs Seminars: 30 hrs

Coursework requirements Diagnostics tests

Exam and assessment To give the student a feedback on his/hers progress 4 diagnostic tests of 2 h will be given during the term. Entrance to the final exam requires a pass of at least 3 diagnostic tests. The course is evaluated through a written exam of 5h. Lettergrades (A-F).
