The Department of Clinical Psychiatry was founded in 2002. It is a part of the Institute of Clinical Medicine. A main purpose of the Department of Clinical Psychiatry is to strengthen the cooperation between the University and the University Psychiatric Clinic - The University Hospital of Northern Norway.

The Department`s tasks: 

• To teach medical students and other students in psychiatry
• To carry out research, research guidance and research traning
• To make our research known to others.
• International cooperation within teaching, training and research (Russia, Italy, UK, as well as Erasmus students from other countries
• Administrative task

Employees:

• 3 Professors (two full-time and one part-time)
• 4 Associate Professors (all part-time, of wich two are locate in Bodø)
• 1 Post Doctoral Research Fellow
• 1 Doctoral Research Fellow
• 1 Secretary (part-time)
