Education report: Objective, basis and structure

§ 2 nr. 8 in the Law about Universities and Colleges stipulates that all universities and colleges are required to have a quality assurance system for their educational activities. The requirements for the institution’s quality assurance system are outlined more precisely in criteria determined by the national body for quality in education (NOKUT).

One of the criteria stipulates that a quality assurance system shall include an annual report to the institution’s board, which provides a complete and superior valuation of the academic quality at the institution and an overview of plans for efforts concerning high quality work.

The education report is the University of Tromsø’s annual report for high quality work. The report for the 2003/04 academic year is the first of its type at the University of Tromsø.
