Mandate

1. To strengthen the competence in and stimulate to women and gender research within different disciplines,  by offering seminars and doctoral courses in collaboration with departments and faculties, initiating and coordinating research projects and working towards strengthening gender perspectives in the different studies.
2. To disseminate women and gender research and research done by female scholars at the University of Tromsø
3. To contribute towards increased recruitment of female students and female scholars in general; to promote advancement in top (tenured) positions, and heighten the knowledge about the situation for women in academia and initiate measures for bettering their situation.
4. To represent the University of Tromsø in different national fora focusing on women and gender research and/or equity issues in academia
5. To provide a meeting place for students and employees at the University of Tromsø
