The 2-year Masters programmes
The Faculty of Science is offering 2-year masters programmes in seven different disciplines comprising of 23 different fields of study. The majority of these masters programmes will also be offered in English.
The 2-year masters programme builds on the line from the bachelor degree which the student majored in and includes, amongst other things, an independent scientific thesis representing 30 or 60 credits undertaken with the guidance of an academic supervisor. In addition the programme includes topics which expand upon the students’ major subject and other special curricula. The home pages of the various masters programmes provide more specific details of their individual content.
Due to upper limits on course capacity within the Department of Computer Science, the number of students that can be accepted onto that particular programme is restricted to 5 per year. None of the other masters programmes are currently restricted in this way.
Admissions to the masters programmes occur twice a year, the biannual deadlines being 15th April and 1st November. The University’s standard admissions form should be used.
All the masters programmes offered by the Faculty form the basis for admission to the doctoral programmes (PhD).
More details about the 2-year masters programmes are available by clicking on one of the links on the right-hand side of this page, where you will also find an account of the Faculty’s supplementary regulations for the masters degree.
