What is the connection between external factors and one's personal health?
What are the societal costs of keeping a population healthy?
Community Medicine studies the connection between people's health and the society at large.
In Tromsø both research and teaching activities reflect that we are situated - both geographically and culturally - in the arctic area.
In addition, we focus on the development of rural medicine and on extensive epidemiological research.

| Denne måneden starter 1.amanuensis Jon Øyvind Odland og gruppa hans en kartlegging av nivåer av miljøgifter i gravide kvinner i Nord-Norge. Studien skal omfatte mellom 1000 og 1500 gravide fra Bodø til Finnmark. Grunnen til at forskerne konsentrerer seg om gravide er fordi ufødte barn er mest sårbare for miljøgifter, ifølge Odland. * |
