HEL-3130: Professional traditions and the theories of knowledge Work Load 10 credits (ECTS) | Contents The history and characteristics of various disciplines are linked to ways in which the concepts of health and disease have been interpreted over time from an ideological point of view. The evolution of health care and the welfare state are discussed from a gender perspective. As a prerequisite to theoretical work within a given discipline, the relationship between practical work within health care disciplines and the theory of knowledge, i.e. various kinds of knowledge, are explored. | Form of teaching The course has multiple teaching approaches | Assessment The student writes an essay, at the end of the module, and it is evaluated internally by two teachers in the department.
