Work Load
10  credits (ECTS)
Objectives
The course is an introduction to the modern literature of indigenous peoples, to this literature''s main topics and to differences and similarities between the different regions. This competence will be important for teachers and journalists, as well as for cultural workers and artists.
Contents
The course provides an overview of the modern writings of indigenous peoples, prose as well as poetry, from a comparative perspective, where the main emphasis will be on North American native literature, Inuit literature from Greenland, aborigine (and partly Maori) literature from Australia and New Zealand, and Sami literature from Scandinavia.

The course is an introduction to the modern writings of indigenous peoples, and some prior knowledge of the situation of indigenous peoples internationally is required.
