FRA-1021: French Language II: Grammar with Phonology Work Load
10 credits (ECTS) | Objectives
The objective of the course is for the student to achieve practical mastery of fundamental linguistic structures in French as well as the appropriate apparatus for syntactic analysis. | Contents
Grammar:
The focus of the teaching will mainly be on central approaches in Nominal and Verbal Syntax, including adjective placement, time, mode, etc. Equal distribution between theoretical and practical exercises. Represents approximately 2/3 of the course total.
Phonology:
Theory and practical exercises (language lab). Represents approximately 2/3 of the course total.

Grammar component:
2-week home exam (maximum 10 pages).
Phonology component:
A one-week compulsory assignment, a two-hour written exam, and a 20-minute oral exam in the language lab.
A joint grade will be awarded for the two components.
