On-line applications
On-line applications for studies in the Autumn semester can be made from March 1 and on-line applications for studies in the Spring semester can be made from October 1. Click here to view details of application deadlines.
In order to make an on-line application, you will require an 11-digit Norwegian personal identification number. International students who do not have a Norwegian personal identification number must use a printed application form. You can request an application form from the Department of Research and Academic Affairs or you can click here to download the form.
The applications web enables you to apply on-line for local admissions at the University of Tromsø. This applies for Master’s degree programmes, clinical programme in Psychology, education for general teachers (PPU), one-year courses and singular courses starting in either the Spring or Autumn semester.
Applicants who have not earlier registered with the University of Tromsø must submit documented results of successful completion of three years of secondary school. For admissions to Master’s degree programmes or singular courses at Master’s level, you must also submit documented proof of completion of a Bachelor degree or similar.
PIN code
To log on and make an on-line application on the StudentWeb, you must enter your 11-digit personal identification number and a four-digit pin code. The pin code is printed on the giro form for the semester fee you received from UiTø. If you experience problems with your pin code, please contact the Student Information Office. If you are a new student, you can create your own pin-code.
In order to make on-line applications, you must have a valid e-mail address. Confirmation that we have received your application will only be sent via e-mail. If you do not provide an e-mail address, you will not receive this confirmation and, therefore, have no guarantee that your application has been received. Remember to provide your address if the address field on your application is empty.
Cover sheet
All applicants will receive a letter and a form (cover sheet), which should be used when sending in the documentation of education on which you application is based. You should also provide the codes of the courses you have applied for. If your application is based on prior learning and work experience, you must state your reason for applying to study and an assessment of your qualifications. The deadline for sending in documentation will be started on the cover sheet. If you have not received this, please contact the Department of Research and Academic Affairs within two weeks of the application deadline.
Security
This service is encrypted or, in other words, any information gained by someone hacking into the system would be impossible to read. The degree of inscription depends on the net browser.
