Welcome to the Department of Research and Academic Affairs

The Department of Research and Academic Affairs is part of the university’s central administration. The Department of Research and Academic Affairs works with political questions and strategies concerning education and research, in addition to management tasks like student admission, student registrations and preparation of statistics and prognoses. The department also coordinates the work with applications for external research funding from i.e. The Research Council of Norway and EU.

The Department of Research and Academic Affairs is a service unit for students, researchers and the rest of the university community. Students are the main users of our services. Information on our web pages is, therefore, aimed particularly at students and entrants to the University of Tromsø.

We refer to our service statement that provides details of the services we provide students and what you as a student can expect from us. This statement also provides details of the expectations we have from individual students requiring services to be carried out in or by the Department of Research and Academic Affairs.
