To provide insight into methods used to characterise the functions and reaction mechanisms of enzymes. | Contents
The following topics will be dealt with: methods used in kinetics and bind studies, identification of reaction mechanisms for reactions of two-substrates, reversible and irreversible affinity labelling, Ph-dependence of kinetic reactions, methods to quantify the active site of an enzyme, factors that affect catalysis, active site structure and mechanisms, the significance of structural domains in an enzyme, stereo-specificity. | Compulsory prerequisites
