It includes subjects such as cell growth and division, energy regulation, absorption and secretions of chemical substances, information transferal, movement and differentiation. The course also explains the function of cells and tissue in healthy and sick individuals, and how these functions are regulated and coordinated. Students are made aware of the rapid development in molecular biology and how this might affect dentistry. The course will also provide and understanding of disciplines such as pharmacology, microbiology, pathology and immunology.
