Contents
The course is based on HIF-3022 Phonology II and deals with the relationship between phonology and other cognitive domains. More specifically, the following issues will be addressed:

- The relationship between phonology and morphology/syntax
- The relationship between phonology and first language acquisition
- The relationship between phonology and phonetics

A central issue will be whether the phonological patterns visible across languages are caused by the interaction between universal grammar and other cognitive areas.

The course requires a bachelor´s degree in language and literature, or equivalent.
