| Objectives
- Introduction to aspects of the historical development of formal education in Norway with an emphasis on Norhtern Norway.
- Introduce main currents in the history of educational ideas.
- Introduce theoretical perspectives on the history of childhood. | Contents
The unit provides introductory knowledge about the historical development of Norwegian education, main currents in the history of educational ideas and different perspectives on the history of childhood. | Form of teaching
Lectures, seminars, individual reading, writing of essay from a list provided by the teacher - writing period one week with the free use of library resources. | Exam and assessment
Students are required to write one essay of 10 pages on a topic from a list provedes by the teacher - writing periode one week with the free use of library resources.
Grading system for assessed work: A-F (F is fail).
